The Demeure En Scène Company presents its latest play, THE LAST WITCH, at Galerie 41, 41 rue St Georges, Lyon 5. Based on the life of Anna Goldïn. A play by Christian Watremez. Directed by Magali Richard.

"My greatest crime is being poor and beautiful. Being beautiful in a place where it's not decent to be so." This is what Anna Göldin, an exploited servant, must have thought, abused by the bigoted bourgeoisie of a protestant town in German-speaking Switzerland.

The last witch? The true story of a woman made a scapegoat for men's hypocrisy in 1782. She allegedly put needles in a child's bowl of milk…

This case was never solved. Anna Göldin is the last woman executed for witchcraft in her country. A museum dedicated to her was inaugurated in Mollis in September 2007. She was declared innocent in August 2008.

"Loïe in Silk": A Serpentine Dance

The exhibition “The Possible” extends into movement and living expression. Inspired by Loïe Fuller, a performance artist unfolds a dance of continuous transformation to Creation of the World, revisited by Vangelis. Dancer Corinne Benzema will perform in a silk tunic as a tribute to Lyon, the historic capital of this textile art. The garment features a motif drawn from Victory, creating a passage between memory and becoming.

Lyon, Silk and a Family Legacy

Echoing the choreographic performance Loïe in Silk, a lecture by Mr. Philibert Varenne, Director of the Maison des Canuts, will explore the profound relationship between Lyon and silk. He will share the story of his family’s enduring passion for silk, a legacy spanning five generations.
