RÉBECCA (!) FABULATRICE — TEXTILE SCULPTURE AND FORMS IN VOLUME
Presented alongside Traversées des Bleus, rébecca (!) fabulatrice’s workshop invites participants to explore textile through volume, assemblage and sculptural transformation.
Using surplus lingerie ribbons from major fashion brands and small everyday objects, participants will experiment with techniques for creating three-dimensional forms. Wire forms, grafting, assemblage, wrapping and textile covering become tools for transforming familiar materials into new sculptural objects.
The workshop reflects the artist’s practice of working with materials from the circular economy, transforming industrial surplus into monumental installations and poetic forms. By reusing and combining materials, participants are invited to question the stories, uses and possibilities attached to everyday objects.
Open to all levels, the workshop offers a hands-on introduction to sculptural textile techniques. Each participant will experiment with materials and processes before creating a small personal work.
Presented in resonance with Traversées des Bleus at the Chapelle de la Buissière and the 18th Lyon Biennale of Contemporary Art, the workshop extends the exhibition’s exploration of transformation, materiality and the narratives carried by objects.
