Crossings into Blue

Conceived as a journey, Crossings into blue, explores spaces of passage, transformation and metamorphosis. The exhibition invites visitors to move between the visible and invisible, memory and becoming, revelation and concealment, dream and materiality.

The five artists develop distinct practices united by a shared attention to materials as sites of memory and narrative. Textiles, paper, photography, cyanotypes, lingerie ribbons, botanical imprints, ceramics and installations form a journey through traces, thresholds and forms in transformation.

Through cyanotype, Laura Folli explores relationships between memory, landscape and the living world. Nathalie Leverger creates poetic installations combining painting, paper and textiles. rébecca (!) fabulatrice transforms surplus industrial lingerie ribbons into monumental installations questioning everyday objects and their narratives. Katherine Roumanoff creates textile portraits from reused fabrics. Tina Marais develops an experimental practice between textile and ceramics, attentive to gestures and memories embedded in materials.

Within the distinctive architecture of the Chapelle de la Buissière, the works enter into dialogue with one another and the space. Blue — the blues, our blues — becomes the thread guiding a journey between the intimate and collective, memory and becoming, materiality and imagination.
