Designed by architect Mario Botta as part of the Grands Travaux de l’État initiative, the MLIS opened its doors in 1988.
Dedicated to promoting contemporary art, the artothèque (art library) offers everyone the opportunity to become familiar with the art of our time by lending a wide variety of artworks from its collection. With a collection of 1,900 works, it provides a broad overview of the current art scene.
The artothèque’s activities are punctuated by a program of temporary exhibitions, specially designed for its space.
