Combining sculpture, performance, photography and textile, Klára Hosnedlová’s work explores the historical sentiments of collective ideologies as they have crystallised in modern and contemporary design and architecture. This mixed-media installation, specifically conceived for the Fagor factories, consists of large epoxy sculptures ornamented with embroidery and surrounded by a sort of invisible wall, which creates a sense of shelter but also of imprisonment. In keeping with the artist’s usual creative process, this piece is inspired by her previous projects (photographs that she is reusing here) in order to form a single environment where narratives intertwine. Invited to move through the space, spectators reactivate these multiple stories, discovering the past to make the future meaningful.
