With Private Support, Floraine Sintès creates ten made-to-measure jackets for the artists taking part in Jeune création internationale. Inspired by sports sponsorship bomber jackets, they subvert their logic: ostentatious brand names are replaced by the discreet names – screen-printed in a tone-on-tone finish against the white cube – of friends, artists, writers, and technicians who have made each professional trajectory possible. At the opening, the wearers and what they wear strike a victory pose, creating a living portrait of the exhibition: of the artists but also of the relationships that have accompanied them along the way. The project originated in 2020, when Floraine Sintès created a first jacket for her degree show, making those who supported her at the time cosignatories of her work. Archived here under glass, it becomes the starting point for the series, placing artistic production within the web of relationships – some of them private – that surrounds, accompanies and, often, sustains it.

In her interventions and installations, Floraine Sintès works through strategies of infiltration, interference, and address. By introducing shifts and displacements, her devices occupy, activate, or divert exhibition spaces, bringing to light dynamics that are usually implicit or concealed. Her works thus become traces of passages and presences, revealing the connections and interdependencies that usually remain in the background.
