Virginie CHOMETTE attacks matter without complacency, with an instinctive rage for life. She tears, soaks, and knots together stories of the living, with their wounds and their joys. Her works draw us into a poetic, fragile, and raw world. She will place her creations in dialogue with those of Eryka JURA.
I TOOK THE STEP… I MADE AND UNMADE… I CELEBRATED… I KEPT SILENT… I DID WITHOUT EFFECTS… I MADE FAIRIES… I HAD CHILDREN… I TURNED A DEAF EAR… I KEPT MY MOUTH SHUT… I WORKED IN METICULOUS DETAIL… I WORKED IN URGENCY… I TIED KNOTS… I DID THE BEST I COULD ?.. I MADE COLOURS… I DREW THE OUTLINE… I PLAYED THE FOOL… I CREATED FREELY… I MADE DISORDER… I WORKED WITH DELICACY… I LIVED AS A HERMIT… I LEFT CRUMBS… I MADE WITHOUT END… I MADE IT GROW… I HAD DREAMS… I DID THINGS… I DID NOTHING… I DID AS I PLEASED… COMPLETELY… EVERYTHING STILL TO DO… EVERYTHING STILL TO BE…
