A coming-together of several media, Lucia Tallová’s piece features second-hand furniture, flea-market finds, ink paintings, vintage photographs and collages of images. Meticulously arranged on wooden shelves, these disparate items respond to one another through formal and conceptual echoes. This assemblage then yields fresh fictitious and real-life stories. Added paint stains and crumpled paper sheets remind us just how fragile our memories are, liable to change or fade at any moment. From afar, its structure poetically evokes the shape of a mountain, symbolising the artist’s home country. In its shades of grey, Tallová’s installation makes up a landscape that is more mental than physical, sending us tumbling into the clouds of memory. Courtesy
