Onda, the French office for contemporary performing arts circulation, promotes the dissemination of contemporary performing arts through information, expertise, networking, financial support and surveys. Subsidised by the Ministry of Culture, Onda promotes the dissemination of contemporary performing arts that flow from a demanding creative approach.

Its remit covers all fields: theatre, dance, music (contemporary and improvised), circus, puppetry, and public space – whether work is created in France or abroad, and whether it is aimed at adults or teens and younger children.

To carry out its missions, Onda runs a huge network in France, Europe and worldwide; holds events around artistic exchange and reflection; advises programmers on their show selections; assists artistic teams with their distribution strategy; financially supports the circulation of shows in France; and conducts surveys and observations to do with the creation (production and distribution) of artworks.

Les SUBS

Sublime, subtle, subversive, subjective, substantial, sub-cultural: Les SUBS is many things, but also unique. The full array of contemporary stage genres – theatre, dance, music, circus, visual and digital arts… - have a home at Les SUBS, whose speciality is aesthetic adventures that shake up our spectators’ habits. Here, there are no frontiers between visual and performing arts, between stage and auditorium, inside and outside, highbrow and popular, here and elsewhere. Open to the city and the world, Les SUBS helps to both reveal local talents and establish international figures; it hosts residencies and events and promotes new technology, accessibility to the greatest number, a strong identity and a partnership-based approach. Operating at the intersection of heritage, new work, amateur practices and digital research, Les SUBS gives pride of place to the values of hospitality, diversity and innovation.

Creating an appetite for new work, taking risks, cultivating our differences, affirming our freedom and fully embracing the uncertainty of what is new: on all of this depends our ability to project ourselves into a future that must be co-built in an open-minded, welcoming and cheerful way. This is why tomorrow’s artists already reside at Les SUBS!
